Chicago Reader: Iconic Restaurant Map

The Reader set out to create a list of the most iconic independent restaurants in all 77 community areas in the city, and they reached out to me to create an illustration to accompany their story. The Reader is a Chicago institution, and I have always wanted to work with them, so I was pumped when they contacted me about this project.

I set out to create a map that showed the diversity of our food scene, so I ended up drawing hot dog stands, fish markets, Asian spots, taquerias, a few pizza places, a donut shop, and one of the midwest's finest BBQ places, among other places.
