Chicago Venues: A Custom Commission
I got a note early in the year from Gina, a huge (and I mean HUGE) music fan and concertgoer, who wanted me to illustrate a custom "gig" poster to commemorate her tenth wedding anniversary with her husband Tom. There were two main requests for the art: include some of the favorite venues in the city and include an Arcade Fire lyric that had special meaning to them. We settled on six iconic venues, and I thought it was a fun idea to have the song lyrics continue from marquee to marquee as you look over the art.
They rented out the Music Box to have a small gathering with close friends and family to celebrate their big day, and Gina had a bunch of posters printed up to share with attendees.
